Biology News: Tuberculosis

This article is about scientist finding out that tuberculosis existed about 500,000 years ago. They find a 500,000-year-old Homo erectus fossil in Turkey with traces of evidence of tuberculosis. Before, scientists believed that tuberculosis started only several thousand years ago. This Homo erectus said to be a young male and was effected with Leptomeningitis tuberculosa, which effects the brain. The drawing on the right is a drawing of a Homo erectus.

I thought this article was pretty cool because scientists found our ancestors and found out that tuberculosis existed 500,000 years before in humans. I also wonder why scientist did not know this before.
